A great narrow gauge railway going through some breathtaking scenery near the Welsh coast. We come here a few times a year, and thoroughly enjoy the journey every time. There are lovely walks from each of the stations (you can get walking guides for each station at the booking office). The times for the walks are massively overestimated and will likely take at most 2/3 of the time, with stops for photos etc. There are some amazing waterfalls and tracks at the last station on the line - Nant Gwernol which we usually go straight to. Dolgoch falls are also brilliant and there is so much to look at and take in! There are accessible cafes at Tywyn Wharf and Abergynolwyn - which if you gift aid your ticket purchase you get a voucher for. The museum at Tywyn Wharf is really well curated and interesting to go around - its not huge, so allow 10-15minutes for this. The tickets have got more expensive over the years, but everything has - and this is worth the money to support.
