The turbo on my 2014 Ford Transit Custom failed and caused damage to my engine. I purchased a replacement engine from Clydeside Auto Recyclers that was described to me by Mac as a full engine with low miles in good condition. When it arrived, my mechanic said many parts had to stripped from my failed engine to allow the replacement to be fitted, including parts and sensors. This greatly increased the cost of the estimated labour. After installing said engine (described by my mechanic as its been sitting for a while) an oil leak was discovered. This was revealed to be caused by a cracked engine block. I attended the garage to take photos as recommended by my mechanics and have attached a photo I took on the day. The orange mark was applied by Clydeside before the engine was dispatched by them and is meant to be used for warranty claims, showing the engine was indeed sold by them. The mark is millimetres from the large crack in the engine, which they state they never seen and was heavily leaking oil after fitting. My mechanic has stated this engine is not fit for purpose. Clydeside would only consider a financial responsibility if I return the engine to them. This would mean labour costs that they were not willing to contribute to. After spending 1700 to have an engine replaced and 2200 to purchase the engine (including a swap of my faulty unit). I could not afford to repeat the process again! Do not buy an engine from Clydeside! My credit card company could not help as the replacement engine would need to be returned to facilitate any refund. Financial disaster for me!

Needed a replacement tailgate, promptly sent photos of one they had. Went to collect and take it off myself, and Dougie was super helpful getting it off the car and carried it out for me. Will definitely be back if I need anything else.
