Unethical and downright dodgy people. Car had a scratch on it when I checked out which was clearly noted on forms. Returned the car 3 days later without incident but sent subsequent bill for 900 for damages. Just avoid and go elsewhere

Recently I rented a car for the day from Avis Belfast City. I was given a quick inspection of the car during which some scratches and dents were pointed out. Unfortunately I was not thorough in checking the car and on return Avis said there were additional scratches to one of the alloy wheels. I know that it was not caused by me as I was very careful and would have known if anything had come into contact with the wheel. We were charged 250 for repair costs which likely will not be done as they had no problem hiring us the car with all the other scratches and dents on it. Also after driving for about 6 hours the tyre pressure warning gauge came on while on the motorway which caused a bit of panic. When I told Avis about it they said it was because the car was sensitive. It would have been nice to know this in advance but they seemed very uninterested and unapologetic. If you do decide to use this branch make sure you check every inch of the car before you drive off, and take photos to back yourself up with evidence. Better yet AVOID
