I have an Alarm Company system fitted at my home. The initial survey was comprehensive and provided a specification which fully filled my own security needs as well as exceeding the requirements of the home insurance company. The installation was scheduled at a time to suit me and the installation work is clean, tidy and thorough.
Yes, you can buy cheaper or do it yourself but honestly, why would you? I believe that doing this is a false economy. Domestic security is all about being confident that experts have installed a quality system properly and will then maintain and keep your kit running with 100% reliability.
The saying buy cheap and youll buy twice is generally right as far as home alarm systems are concerned.
My house and contents insurance is noticeably less expensive because I have a professionally fitted system which is maintained annually. Over the next several years the cost saving on insurance premiums will pretty much pay for the system.
