The previous review from Gerry is very critical and only highlighted the possible downside of the property which in some details he is correct about ie not being disabled friendly but I would like to put the positive side. The house has fantastic views and yes the steps down to the promenade are steep but you are literally on the direct entrance to the promenade with no cars or traffic passing. The house is very tastefully decorated and not tired looking at all. The back yard is secure for your pets and although the back lane parking is tight remember these were coal miners houses and as such are terraced. Beautiful relaxing and quiet and we love it having been three times. Husband loves it and has taken up fishing again. Has a wood burning fire if you wish to use it but the house is very cosy. We were never asked to pay any fee and certainly only the normal basic information was requested from us. Would recommend this as a beautiful area and accommodation and far superior to many others in the area. Our dog loves the promenade and out of season access to the beach. Great for walks and away from it all holiday and will definitely be back.

This let is marketed by the agent Home Away/ Owners Direct they require a deal of information about you before you start and a fee of about 80.( Invoiced from Geneva) the let just out of season is pricey just check it out, All e mails vetted through them. The House itself is a little tired with good views of the Bay. The breakfast table layout on the lawn (pictured on the web site) overlooking the bay is actually at the front with unfenced neighbours on either side the lawn runs very steeply towards the Prom below not secure for children and pets. The rear of the House is a backyard surrounded by houses in close proximity. It is not Disabled friendly as both entries are difficult to manage. There is only one toilet/ Bathroom which is upstairs. The shower is over the bath with a plastic curtain complete with blackish mould .The boiler cupboard in the rear porch had mouse droppings in it. Parking is at the rear in a very tight Cul de sac of terraced properties . It can get congested .(google the site and view the location). There are a number of lets in the area listed on Google its worth checking them out to match your needs. Newbiggin by the Sea, "is a good base to visit elsewhere".
