Nearby activities: The castle is within walking distance of Hubert House (but the hill is a quite steep). Next door to the pub is the ruins of St James the Great church. Opposite Hubert House is a grand looking building called Castle Hill House which was once home to Dover MP Major Astor and several Dover mayors. The hotel owner recommended a drive to St Margarets Bay before heading home. Its well worth a visit for the best views of the White Cliffs of Dover.
Walkability: Lots to see within a few minutes walk of Hubert House.
Food & drinks: There is a pub next door which is the oldest in Dover. Its a favourite with Channel swimmers. They have cider on tap which is well earned after walking the hill to the Castle.
Theres also a lovely Fish and Chip shop within 2 mins Walk of Hubert House.
